Behind the Lens
I’m Madison Reece, a sports photographer and visual storyteller with a passion for capturing the moments that define the game — the intensity of competition, the emotion of victory, and the stories that unfold beyond the scoreboard.
I’m currently a junior at the University of South Carolina studying Visual Communications with a concentration in Sports Media and a minor in Sports Entertainment and Management. I’ve been behind the camera for more than six years, beginning at Loganville Christian Academy, where I combined photography and social media to tell the stories of my school and its athletes. Today, I continue developing my craft as a photographer for The Daily Gamecock, covering Gamecock athletics and campus life.
From the energy of Williams-Brice Stadium to the action inside Colonial Life Arena and across South Carolina’s athletic venues, I’ve had the opportunity to photograph football, basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, and more. But for me, sports photography is about more than capturing the play. I’m always looking for the emotion, personality, and details that tell the complete story of an athlete, a team, and a moment.
Sports photography brings together two things I love — sports and visual storytelling. Through Madison Reece Media, I want to create authentic, compelling images that make you feel like you were there, while capturing the moments and stories that live beyond the final score.
